MCTXSheriff Arrest Four Following Burglary Investigation

On October 11, 2022, at about 9:45 PM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle call at a motel near the 24000 block of I-45 in Spring, Texas. A Deputy quickly arrived on the scene and provided area law enforcement with a description of the suspect vehicles. Responding Deputies located one car, a black and white Dodge Charger with a temporary tag, driving south on I-45, entering Harris County. After a traffic stop was made, four adults were detained without incident.

During the investigation, the suspect vehicle and the four suspects were transported to the original scene, where the complainant from the burglary positively identified his missing hand tools found in the Dodge Charger. Additionally, about 20 bags of tools/evidence were in the suspect vehicle, all recovered and submitted as evidence. There were also several stolen credit cards in the car. This suspect vehicle is believed to be connected to numerous vehicle burglaries in Montgomery County, which are under investigation.

The four suspects are identified as 38-year-old Lorenzo Lewis of Humble, 19-year-old Moses Vann of Houston, 17-year-old Jerome Martin (address unknown), and 34-year-old Ashley Sam of Houston.

The suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they were all charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Lorenzo Lewis was also arrested for an outstanding warrant, while Ashley Sam was also charged with Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information. Lewis has 10 prior convictions for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle in Harris County, in addition to 17 other various convictions. He is also currently out on a $5,000 bond for Driving While Intoxicated in Harris County.

Law enforcement has identified the second suspect vehicle, a 2013 white Ford Edge (TX LP RBF8672) and is attempting to locate it. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this vehicle, or has information this case, please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 and refer to case #22A305407.

Sheriff Henderson remarked, “Our community continues to be victimized by repeat criminals released on multiple low bonds from the Harris County Criminal Justice System. Part of our efforts to combat this issue was the strategic placing and opening of the South County substation. The Deputies who apprehended these suspects are assigned to this newly opened station, and I am proud of their hard work in apprehending these criminals. In Montgomery County, your law enforcement, District Attorney, and Judges are determined to keep residents safe and hold criminals accountable.”
