The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy is a regional training academy licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). The mission of the training staff is to provide all students with realistic, reliable, and relevant training. The Academy provides training for both in-service and new recruit training. Training is offered in three formats: traditional classroom courses, field or practical application training, and e-training. The Academy charges a nominal fee to individuals commissioned by agencies not funded by Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Clint People's Training Academy holds a Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) each year.
The Training Academy is also a TCOLE accredited test site. If you are interested in taking the Peace Officer, Basic Jailer, or Telecommunicator Licensing exam, please contact the Training Academy to schedule your test appointment. The cost of the exam is $35 in the form of a check or money order only. Please make payable to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Payment is accepted on the day of your scheduled exam. Be sure to bring your driver's license and PID number. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted inside the testing center. Click here for a list of other accredited exam sites
ONLINE TRAINING NOTICE: At this time, the Training Academy will be moving to a new online learning system and will not be accepting course registrations from outside agencies. Please check back at the end of March for updates.
