LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES DIVISION

The Law Enforcement Services Division is headed by Captain Jimmy Malmay. Several civilian units make up the LES Division including Fleet Operations, Radio Shop, and finally Facilities and Building Maintenance.

Fleet Operations is staffed by professional Mechanics and Managers who are responsible for maintaining the wide array of Sheriff’s Office vehicles. This includes vehicles for the Patrol, CID, Jail, Homeland Security, and Executive Divisions. The fleet is made up of motorcycles, SUVs, vans, trucks, trailers, and marked patrol units. The Mechanics are responsible for everything from routine maintenance to full drivetrain replacements.

The Radio Shop Manager and Technicians are responsible for maintaining and updating the Montgomery County Regional Radio System and its network of tower sites. The Sheriff’s Office, Constables, Emergency Operations Center, and other County agencies utilize the radio system for both emergency and routine communications. Many of the County’s Municipalities and Fire Departments also rely on this Radio System.

The Facilities and Building Maintenance Unit is responsible for the improvement, maintenance, and repair of the Sheriff’s Office many buildings and worksites. The Manager and Technicians have expertise in general construction, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, concrete work, painting, and electrical wiring. They also engage in construction design, including the hiring and oversight of subcontractors when necessary.
