MCTXSheriff Arrest Three for Theft of Catalytic Converters

On March 16, 2022, at about 4:40 PM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a theft of a catalytic converter in the 3000 block of College Park Drive. A witness advised 911 of a male under a Toyota Tacoma, and that the person emerged from under the vehicle with what looked like a catalytic converter.  The witness then saw the male get into an awaiting vehicle, which fled the scene.  Nearby Shenandoah Police Department Units were able to locate the vehicle as it was attempting to leave the area.  The suspect vehicle was stopped by those officers, and were joined by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Units.

During the investigation, 11 catalytic converters were found in the suspects’ vehicle, along with tools used to cut catalytic converters from cars.  The three males (pictured below) located in the suspect vehicle were arrested, and charged with felony theft and criminal mischief. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are currently working to identify other victims in unincorporated areas of Montgomery County, and are actively working with the Conroe Police Department in identifying possible victims in the City of Conroe. This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are pending against the arrested suspects.
