UPDATE: At about 6:00PM on February 21, 2022, Detectives with the Homicide Violent Crimes unit obtained information about the whereabouts of the suspect, JoseMario Gazca-Navarrete. A short time later, a Sergeant with the Shenandoah Police Department located a vehicle that JoseMario was thought to be traveling in. A traffic stop was conducted with the assistance of Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and JoseMario was found hiding in the trunk. JoseMario was placed in custody at that time.

MCTXSheriff Responds to Aggravated Robbery
On February 20, 2022, MCTXSheriff deputies responded to a carjacking in the 1400 block of Ashland Drive in Conroe. Initial reports indicate that 2 men approached a neighbor shortly after 5:00PM, and asked for a ride. Once in the vehicle, one of the suspects, identified as 24-year-old JoseMario Gazca-Navarrete, produced a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded that he take them to a separate location. After a short distance, the victim stopped the vehicle in front of a residence where there were many people outside, and quickly got out of the vehicle. The two suspects then also got out of the vehicle, and fled on foot. While one suspect is still at large, JoseMario was believed to have returned to his residence on Ashland Drive.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiators, SWAT, and Homicide/Violent Crime units were dispatched to assist with the scene. After several hours of unsuccessful attempts to establish communications with JoseMario, a search warrant was executed on the residence. Despite the efforts of those involved, JoseMario was not found in the residence, and is still at large.
