MCTXSheriff Makes Arrest in Magnolia Area Shooting
On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at about 1:10 AM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a male with a gunshot wound at the Whataburger restaurant located at 6203 FM 1488 in Magnolia, Texas. During the investigation, it was learned the male was shot at the CubeSmart storage facility located at 29101 FM 2978 in Magnolia, and the alleged shooter was possibly still at the location.
Deputies went to the storage facility and located the suspect, who immediately became combative with Deputies. Deputies were able to detain the suspect, who was identified as 26-year-old August Brooks.
Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit responded. As a result of the investigation, the suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was charged with Assault on a Public Servant and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The male who was shot was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
