Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force Locates Wanted Felony Suspect

On July 13, 2021, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force which consists of personnel from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, TDCJ Office of Inspector General, and US Marshals, were contacted by their peers in the North Texas Fugitive Task Force (NTFTF) regarding a suspect involved in a criminal event in Ft. Worth, TX.

The suspect, identified as 35 year old Anthony Maldonado, is alleged to have forced a 16 year old female into a restroom at a restaurant and attempted to sexually assault her. An arrest warrant for kidnapping and unlawful restraint involving a juvenile was filed in Tarrant County on Maldonado. Information gathered by the NTFTF indicated he lived in the 1200 block of FM 830 in Willis, TX. That information was shared with the Gulf Coast Task Force, who then located Maldonado at that location where he was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Maldonado is currently awaiting extradition back to Ft. Worth. This is a great example of a cohesive investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies in different regions coordinating together to remove a criminal predator from the streets. Job well done by all!
