MCTXSheriff Makes Arrest for Murder of Ex-Husband

On Thursday March 25, 2021 at about 8 PM the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a woman woke to find her Ex-Husband shot in his home. MCTXSheriff’s Deputies arrived at the home in the 18500 block of Solomon Road, Cleveland Texas, which is in Montgomery County, within minutes of receiving the call. During the investigation, the Ex-Wife Diane Moore Walker (56 years old) informed Deputies that she was asleep on the couch and woke up to find her Ex-Husband, 64 year old Steve Randall Walker, dead on the floor. Mr. Walker was found to have multiple gunshot wounds on his torso. MCTXSheriff’s Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives were called to the scene along with Crime Scene Investigators and Prosecutors with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. During the course of the investigation, Detectives found that Diane’s story was inconsistent with the evidence on scene, which indicated she was involved in the shooting. Diane Walker was arrested for murder and booked into the Montgomery County Jail where she has a $250,000 bond.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office expresses our condolences to the Walker family and their friends who have been impacted by this tragic event.
