On Thursday March 18, 2021 at around 7:50 PM Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a male had fired shots at neighbors in the 22000 block of Allyson Road in Magnolia, Texas. Upon their arrival, and while approaching the scene, the Deputies were fired upon. One MCTXSheriff’s Deputy was struck with what is believed to be a shotgun loaded with birdshot, receiving injuries in his leg, arm and head. The Deputy is currently in stable condition and expected to recover fully.
Multiple agencies responded to the area including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Precinct Two and Five Constable’s Offices, Fire Marshal’s Office, Montgomery PD, Willis PD and Texas Department of Public Safety and are currently searching for the suspect. MCTXSheriff SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams are also present.
After several hours, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Crisis Negotiation Team successfully negotiated the peaceful surrender of the suspect. The suspect’s name will be released after a positive identification can be made and charges are filed.
We want to thank all of our partner Law Enforcement Agencies who assisted in this lengthy scene, and who came to aid our Deputies after the initial attack. We also would like to thank the public for their prayers/support for our injured Deputy, and for their patience as we worked through this lengthy situation limiting access to the area.
