MCTXSheriff Makes Arrest for Robbery/Homicide in Magnolia
During the course of the investigation of this fatal shooting during a robbery, detectives with the Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit identified the suspect who fired the fatal shot as 18 year old James Barnes Jr. Barnes was initially located close to the scene the night of the shooting and has been in the Montgomery County Jail since that time on an unrelated charge. On March 05, 2021, Detectives filed a charge of Capital Murder.
Barnes, is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail with no bond. The investigation is ongoing and detectives anticipate there may be additional charges filed against Barnes and possibly one other suspect.
