The Woodlands Township Division

The Woodlands Township Patrol Division patrols primarily The Woodlands Township which is roughly 44 square miles, with a 2018 estimated population of 116,278 and is home to over 2,000 businesses, entertainment, and cultural venues, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. The Woodlands Township Patrol Division includes supervisors, patrol deputies, detectives, and dedicated crime prevention personnel. During 2018, The Woodlands Township Patrol Division answered more than 122,000 calls for service.

The Woodlands hosts a significant number of corporate offices and retail areas including The Woodlands Mall, Hughes Landing, and Market Street as well as, cultural and entertainment venues such as The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and movie theaters. Additionally, there are a host of elementary, intermediate and junior high schools along with two large public high schools, as wells are five private preparatory school campuses. The Lone Star College Montgomery Campus and the University Center providing the secondary educational environment call The Woodlands Township home. The growing Medical Center area is home to three major hospitals providing medical care to patients. 

The Woodlands Township hosts several community-wide events including marathons, Iron Man and parades, etc. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has a collaborative agreement and receives supplemental funding from The Woodlands Township, a local governmental entity whose mission includes protecting the well-being and safety of residents, visitors and businesses through a cooperative agreement. 

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and The Woodlands Township Patrol Division, along with The Woodlands Township are committed to Community and Tourism Oriented Policing model, which emphasizes a philosophy of full-service, personalized policing in which the same deputies patrol a specific geographic area or “zone.” The Woodlands Township Patrol Division has eight zones or patrol areas of responsibility; thus, allowing our deputies to become part of the community and not apart from it. 

Throughout the Town Center patrol zone, The Woodlands Township Division personnel demonstrate a Tourism-Oriented Policing philosophy including walking patrols, bicycle patrols, etc. Personnel also provides law enforcement services as well as greeting hundreds of thousands of visitors and tourists yearly along The Woodlands Waterway, a 1.25 mile-long water feature lined with parks, businesses, and private residences, to world-class events. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion accommodates nearly 17,000 people and hosts major concert events throughout the year.
