Recruiting Process


Phase I

  • Applicant creates an account and completes an application for a posted position.
  • Supplemental Questionnaire issued, and returned by the given due date.
Phase II

  • Qualified Detention Officer and Deputy Sheriff applicants will be emailed to schedule Pre-Employment Written Testing and Physical Agility Testing.
  • Qualified Telecommunicator applicants will be emailed to schedule for CritiCall Testing.
  • Other Clerical applicants will be emailed to schedule testing.
Phase III

  • Personal History Book issued, completed by Applicant, and returned with supporting documentation by the given due date.
Phase IV

  • Recruiting personnel will complete a background investigation, and a Polygraph Exam will be scheduled, if applicable for position applied.
Phase V

  • Final approval by the Sheriff and Conditional Offer of Employment extended to the applicant.
  • Conditional Offer of Employment based on the following:
    • Drug Screening / Physical Examination / Psychological Evaluation / County Physical Agility / Hearing Screening.
    • Testing will vary depending on requirements listed in the specific job posting.
