Sheriff’s Office Arrest Burglary Suspect and Recover Property

On August 16, 2018 at 2:24 AM, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies received a suspicious vehicle call around on North Creekmist Place. The caller advised that his vehicle had just been broken into and a bag containing tools was taken from his vehicle. The caller stated that a white older model pickup truck was driving down the street slowly stopping at other houses. Responding Deputies watched all the exits to the neighborhood and observed a vehicle leaving the neighborhood that matched the description of the suspect vehicle given by the caller. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Donald McDonald. During the investigation, Deputies located the bag of tools taken in the burglary. McDonald was interviewed by Deputies and admitted to breaking into the vehicle and taking the tool bag. McDonald was placed under arrest for Burglary of Vehicle. At this time, no other vehicle burglaries have been reported in this area.

Sheriff Rand Henderson responds, “I am very proud of the dedication and response of our Deputies to find and apprehend this individual. Quality of life crimes such as this are disgraceful and will not be tolerated in Montgomery County. Individuals who prey on other citizens’ hard work can expect the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to use every resource at our disposal to find and arrest those responsible, as was done in this case.”
