Kevin Ray is a 20-year veteran of Montgomery County Law Enforcement. He has served the Sheriff’s Office in several capacities in both the Detention and Patrol Divisions. Prior to accepting his role as Captain of the East Precinct, Kevin was assigned as a civilian Detention Officer, Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant. During his tenure, he has earned an Instructor’s and Master Peace Officer’s License from TCOLE, as well as numerous other training certificates in specialized areas. Kevin has extensive training in community oriented policing and crime prevention, and serves as an instructor for the COPS Education Project. Kevin is slated to attend the prestigious Law Enforcement Management Institute’s Leadership Command College in May of 2017.
Prior to his promotion, Kevin was given command of the Special Response Group, which was tasked with providing crowd control at high profile events as the Donald Trump Rally. During his service with the Sheriff’s Office, Kevin has received the Meritorious Service award for service above and beyond the call of duty. In 1997, Kevin received his Police Officer Instructors License and has served as an adjunct instructor for the Sheriff’s Office in several disciplines.
